Review: On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft by Steph.Top Ten Tuesday: Most Anticipated Releases of the. Top Ten Tuesday: Books on My Summer 2019 TBR.I’d read if all over again, though, because: Kenji.Īll in All: Not essential reading in order to follow the series, but no doubt Kenji fans will want to check this out. While of course I enjoyed Kenji’s often hilarious take on everything and everyone-especially Warner- Shadow Me didn’t shed as much light on his character as I’d expected. With Kenji being the kind of person who freely shares whatever is on his mind, I’d hoped to gain more insight into that mind rather than just observing the chaos of the ending of Restore Me through his eyes. I didn’t feel we got to dive into his character the way that we did with Warner’s in the series' first novella, Destroy Me. Kenji tries to support his friend, but he has his own distractions to deal with. Instead the novella is more of a retelling of the last few chapters of Restore Me from Kenji’s perspective. By Tahereh Mafi Publisher:Harper Format:eBook Source:Purchased To Sum It Up:As Juliette prepares to face the sector leaders of The Reestablishment as supreme commander, the rest of her world seems to be falling apart. I was surprised that Shadow Me only touched on that briefly. Fan favorite character Kenji Kishimoto narrates this gripping companion novella to Tahereh Mafi’s New York Times bestselling Shatter Me series, set during the explosive events in Restore Me Juliette is still reeling from Warners betrayal, and Kenji is trying to balance his friendship with her. Plus I was hoping to learn more of his backstory. Kenji’s unfiltered, in-your-face snark is one of my favorite things about the series. Review: I LOVE Shatter Me’s resident smartass Kenji Kishimoto, so I was thrilled by the news that the newest Shatter Me novella, Shadow Me, would feature his POV. Destroy Me is a young adult dystopian novella written by Tahereh Mafi, published on 2012. He needs to find his focus quickly, though, as Sector 45 is in danger of being obliterated. This captivating story was praised as "a thrilling, high-stakes saga of self-discovery and forbidden love" by Ransom Riggs, bestselling author of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. To Sum It Up: As Juliette prepares to face the sector leaders of The Reestablishment as supreme commander, the rest of her world seems to be falling apart. The Shatter Me series is perfect for fans who crave action-packed young adult novels with tantalizing romance like Divergent and The Hunger Games. Reveal Me brings readers back to the Shatter Me world one last time before the final novel installment in the series hits shelves in 2020. Things get even more interesting when an unexpected person from Omega Point’s past surfaces. In Shadow Me, Juliette is still reeling from Warner's betrayal, and Kenji is trying to balance his friendship with her with his responsibilities as a leader of the resistance against the Reestablishment. Calling all fans of Tahereh Mafi’s New York Times bestselling Shatter Me series! This gorgeous paperback bind-up includes Shadow Me and Reveal Me, the third and fourth novellas in the series, both in print for the first time ever. Each key-value pair should be printed to the console on a new line. You want to print out the keys and values of a specific book to the console. Let’s say you are writing a program for a librarian. This loop allows you to run through each value in the dictionary individually. Perhaps the simplest way to iterate through a dictionary is to use a Python for loop. Iterate Using for Loopĭictionaries are iterable objects, which means you can iterate through them like any other object. You may want to iterate through every dictionary to calculate the total of each book’s quantity. Say wanted to know how many books your library had in stock. You can also use a for loop to iterate over a dictionary. There are no method based equivalents - the semantic equivalents of d. items() returns the key-value pairs in a dictionary. In Python 3, direct iteration over mappings works the same way as it does in Python 2. keys() returns an iterable list of dictionary keys. You can iterate through a Python dictionary using the keys(), items(), and values() methods. When you run for guildinfo in guilds: you will iterate through dictionaries, so here each guildinfo will be a dictionary. The words on the left of the colons are the keys, which in this case are title, author, date_published, and in_stock. Our dictionary uses colons ( :) throughout, which separate our keys and values. Here’s an example of a dictionary in Python: This means that each value is assigned a key that can be used to reference that particular value. Python dictionaries store data in a key-value structure. We’ll also explore an example of each of these approaches being used to iterate through a dictionary. For each loop iteration, Python will automatically assign the first variable. These dictionary values can also have another dictionaries internally. It is a kind of dictionary which has another dictionary objects as values in the key-value pairs. A nested dictionary in python is a dictionary of dictionaries. Python will automatically treat as a dictionary and allow you to iterate over its keys. In this article, we will discuss different ways to iterate / loop over all key-value pairs of a nested dictionary. This tutorial will discuss how to iterate through a dictionary using a for loop, items(), and keys(). items(), where dictionary is the name of your variable representing a dictionary. Method 1: Iteration Using For Loop + Indexing The easiest way to iterate through a dictionary in Python, is to put it directly in a loop. If you need to iterate over a dictionary in sorted order of its keys. There are a few ways you can iterate through a dictionary. With Python 3.7, a dictionary is guaranteed to be iterated in the insertion order of keys. You would want to iterate through the dictionary storing that data so you can display it to the user of your profgram. He went on to became an early-aughts heartthrob with 1999's The Virgin Suicides, 2001 war dramas Black Hawk Down and Pearl Harbor, the 2002 romantic comedy 40 Days and 40 Nights, and the buddy comedy Hollywood Homicide (2003), which is mostly forgotten, though it features some inspired comic work between Hartnett and Harrison Ford. Episode: "Joan Is Awful" (season 6, episode 1) It weighs 965g while Megaboom 3’s weight is 925g. Well, Charge 4 is a little bit heavier than its rival. Almost identical, right? Neither of them is too big to carry around and Megaboom 3 also has the special-designed Hang Loop which gives extra comfort when it comes to taking the speaker with you. Charge 4’s dimensions are – 220 x 95 x 93 mm (W x D x H), while Megaboom 3 stands for 87 x 87 x 225 mm (W x D x H). One more thing that JBL Charge 4 vs Megaboom 3 seems identical is their sizes. The buttons alignments are slightly changed in both Charge 4 and Megaboom 3 from their predecessors, but not significantly. You can take the liberty of getting UE’s newest Charging Dock, which is good for Boom, Megaboom, Blast & Megablast. For the record, Megaboom 3 now has the charging port at the back, so no more awkward situations with charging it underneath from now on. The shapes of the speakers’ are just like they used to be with their predecessors – Charge 4 lays horizontally and Megaboom 3 stands vertically. These are pretty awesome colors and it’s definitely worth it to get one of those. Keep in mind that Cloud & Denim colors are Apple Exclusive, while Urban Magenta remains available only at T-Mobile. Looks like Charge 4’s design is a little bit old-fashioned, whereas Megaboom 3 has brand new two-toned colors, such as Lagoon Blue, NightBlack, Sunset Red, Ultraviolet Purple, Cloud, Denim & Urban Magenta. You can choose from these Charge 4’s colors: Black, Blue, Grey, Forest Green, Pink, Red, Yellow, White, Teal & Sand – yeah, there are many of them and frankly, they have an amazing look, but not compared to Megaboom 3. Despite that JBL Charge 4 brought some new colors, Megaboom 3 still makes a better-designed speaker. After all, these are what users seem to value and have an interest while comparing one speaker to another. Let’s take a look at the important stats and numbers of JBL Charge 4 vs UE Megaboom 3. But beyond that, they still do have some differences that will definitely be interesting to any potential customer. Some speakers are portable, some have deeper bass and that’s their value, but when we’re talking about JBL Charge 4 vs UE Megaboom 3 – they seem to have everything, they’re like all-in-one speakers. Looks like that JBL and UE still can compete for head-to-head this year, because they’ve produced products that can satisfy all the user’s needs. The Federal Transit Administration already has given its approval to that line, making it eligible for federal funding. In Clayton County, MARTA also plans to build such a line from College Park station to Southlake Mall. The Clayton State line is one of several rapid bus lines MARTA plans for metro Atlanta. They pay in advance to speed up the boarding process. Passengers board at stations with shelters, benches and real-time information about arrivals. They are can be found with either two or three horns the third horn is used as a show of dominance during mating periods. They are one of the largest land mammals on Earth but they are rapidly becoming endangered due to poaching for their horns. White rhinos are large, herbivores that live in the African regions of Kenya and Uganda. Rhinos have been listed as critically endangered since 1996 by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), they were once found across much of sub-Saharan Africa but their numbers have plummeted, largely because of poaching. Their horns are also used to create dagger handles in Yemen. Where they are ground into powder or manufactured into tablets to be used as a treatment for a variety of illnesses such as nosebleeds, strokes, convulsions, snake bite, and fevers. White rhinos are listed as an endangered species due to poaching, both for their meat and their horns, which are valued in traditional Chinese and traditional Asian medicine. Today, there are only four White Rhinos left in the world. According to the World Wildlife Fund, there were about 2,900 numbers northern white rhinos left in the world as of 2014. Neville enjoys spending time with his mother, Livia, while engaging in playful, child-like behavior.Northern White rhinos are critically endangered due to poaching by poachers. San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance’s Northern White Rhino Initiative is dedicated to saving the northern white rhino through innovative reproductive technologies, including artificial insemination, in vitro fertilization, and embryo transfer. This is vitally important, as Livia is now among the female rhinos at the Nikita Kahn Rhino Rescue Center who could potentially serve in the future as a surrogate mother to a northern white embryo. When full-grown, at around three years of age, he could weigh between 4,000 and 5,000 pounds, and stand six feet tall at the shoulder.Īll rhino births are significant, and Neville’s birth represents an essential step in San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance’s Northern White Rhino Initiative, showing Livia can carry a calf to term and care for her offspring. Under the watchful eyes of Livia, the calf often interacts with the two adults-sometimes engaging in playful behavior, including head-butting, or just curiously watching their activities.īorn at approximately 110 pounds, Neville is nursing well and gaining three to five pounds a week. In addition to spending time with his mother, Livia, Neville was recently introduced to two of the other adult females residing at the Rhino Rescue Center: Victoria and Wallis. Rhinos coat themselves with a thick layer of mud that acts as a sunscreen and bug repellent and helps to keep them cool. Rolling in mud is a natural behavior of rhinos. He can be seen running at top speed around the expansive habitat, frequently stopping to splash around and roll in mud wallows. The energetic and confident calf is thriving and has been experiencing many new “firsts” since his birth this past August, including meeting other rhinos, and gaining enough stamina and bulk to now explore the two-acre main habitat at the Nikita Kahn Rhino Rescue Center. Neville, and all rhinos, was the focus of attention on World Rhino Day, this past September, a day to bring increased awareness of rhinos and the importance of conservation efforts to protect these iconic animals. The name was chosen by a generous supporter of San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance, in honor of a South African doctor who made a positive impact on the donor’s life, and on many others. A six-week-old male southern white rhino calf at the Nikita Kahn Rhino Rescue Center at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park has been given a name: Neville. You need to buy or rent a plug or core aerator. In my opinion don’t waste your money or time. The spike aerator is sold as a less expensive alternative. The problem with them is they don’t effectively open up the soil layer to allow water and oxygen into the root zone. The spikes are forced into the ground to make small holes in the soil. Spike aerators have spikes on a rotating axle (see photo). Spike aerators are really a waste of time in my opinion. There’s a huge difference between using a spike aerator and using a plug or core aerator. I think the most important tip is using the right equipment. Now that I’ve had some time to work with the equipment I wanted to share some lawn aerating tips. I’ve also written several posts about the John Deere Plug Aerator I bought to aerate my lawn. In this case, getting a core aerator would make more sense because the soil is most likely too compacted.I’ve written several posts on aerating your lawn and the benefits it provides to healthy growing grass including one with core aeration tips. Unless you have severe water pooling on your lawn, that is. So, a safe way to test things out might be to use the old pitchfork sitting in your shed or garage before getting a plug aerator. For professional lawn management, a mechanical aerator usually offers both solutions. Learning about spike VS plug aerator tools can only make a difference when comparing the instrument with the turf needs. On the opposite side, you can stick a garden fork everywhere and work in most soil conditions as soon as you have spare time. Also, if you have mixed soil, it will not perform great in sandy areas. It will not work well, which means you will sweat buckets for little or no gains. If the soil moisture level gets too wet or dry, the manual plug aerator will not be your friend. But they are harder to use in some lawn places. Of course, plug aerators do not have such a downside. Spike aerating without wiggling the soil after fully inserting the tool deep into the lawn can compact the turf more. Instead, spike aerators like pitchforks poke holes in your turf and go as deep as you can push them. Plug or core aerators pull at least two cores at a time. Spike VS Plug Aerator: What Is The Real Difference? So, a spike aerator like a garden fork is more than enough to address any potential problem. Sandy loams usually do not have a soil compaction issue. Otherwise, you will have an uneven surface. But when you use a plug aerator, you will have to fill the holes with sand. Once you aerate your turf, the particles in your soil will not bind together without pressure. If you do everything appropriately-water, fertilize, and mow the lawn the way it needs you to-aeration will only be necessary as a curative practice. Presence of standing water and pooling on your lawnĬultural practices are the most critical factor of all.Grass blade colors-optimum drainage means healthy green blades while waterlogged soil leads to yellowish grass.Such a give-and-take situation means that you have to weigh different factors like: But if you have heavy clay and plenty of organic matter, you will have fewer problems with compaction. In detail, heavy clay has more issues with soil compaction than sandy soils. But how frequently you need to aerate that pathway once more will depend on native soil composition. If you aerate a high-traffic turf, heavy foot traffic or carts and tractors will compact the soil faster because you exert pressure on them all the time. So, spike aerators are better for low-traffic turf. They involve no cleanup yet still optimize gas exchange, water, and fertilizer programs.
